As a graduate of physics and fine art
my art practice is scientific, that is:
I practise looking at and making art as a scientist.
I see art as a process both of analysis and communication through which we are able to see the subjective views of others.
I am interested in analysing the communication which is occurring and playing with the subjective/objective divide.
This diagram shows the usual process through which art is made and viewed:
Everybody who sees any artwork is therefore part of the creative process as the art object is recreated in their mind.
Each person will view the object differently and this is what my work attempts to reflect.
I create work which interrupts the traditional art process at the first stage: asking people for their subjective views and then creating an object which reflects this as objectively as possible.
