I have been teaching art to all ages and levels of experience since 2009.
My current classes are:
I am currently running Drawing the Star, a life drawing group which meets in Hackney every Tuesday evening. Since setting up in Februray 2015 we have been regularly busy and are now established as a group which meets the needs of local artists as well as those new to drawing or simply wanting to try their hand. Each session has a range of short poses, with longer poses after the break which offer the opportunity for attendees to request pose times, and even set poses if they wish. With paper provided and a wide range of drawing materials to borrow, the space is the perfect place for you to find your own way to draw.
I began teaching art in 2009 at The Art Academy in London Bridge, where I offered instruction across a range of courses, mostly in drawing and painting for adults, working from the figure, the landscape and from personal inspiration. I also taught their Introduction to Sculpture course and their young artists week-long summer course. I studied Fine Art at The Art Academy myself and graduated from their excellent diploma course with a 2:1 in Painting and Sculpture.
From 2014 I have been working with A-side B-side Gallery, which is a part of Hackney Downs Studios. Here I have expanded my range of teaching to include younger artists with a much-loved Toddler Art Class for the under 5s, a Saturday class for 10-16s and an After School Art Club for 7-12s. Since the closing of the Russet Cafe and Arts Venue our life drawing, toddler and Saturday classes are awaiting a new space. The After School Art Club for 7-12s continues on Tuesdays, 4.30pm - 5.30pm upstairs at The Star by Hackney Downs.
